Loud from the South festival announces first names
It is with great pride that LOUD FROM THE SOUTH presents the first of twelve names for the first edition of the open air festival. Headlining act is the American band Soulfly, with bandleader Max Cavalera who headed metal legends Sepultura until the mid nineties. But there’s more.
Aside from legendary British deathgrinders Carcass, the Bay Area thrashers of Laaz Rockit, UK thrashers Sabbat, New England’s Only Living Witness, Swedish deaththrashers Darkane, Danish monsters Pilgrimz, German hardrockers Motorjesus and Dutch death metal band The Lucifer Principle will make an appearance divided over two stages.
Soulfly will present their new album to the Dutch crowd and for both Carcass and Sabbat it will be the only Benelux festival show this year. Laaz Rockit, who will release a new album just before the festival, have even made this a European exclusive and Only Living Witness can even top that by doing their very last show ever at the Loud From The South festival. It’s going to be one hell of a party!
Off course I’m also very excited to have heroes from a little further away play at the first edition of our festival. Laaz Rockit has made a few appearances over the last years and I’ve seen them all. I can tell you my grin was as wide as singer Michael Coons’. One of the premiere reunions this year is Carcass so I am very happy to have them play a Benelux exclusive. Just like Sabbat, who I’ve never been able to see back in the day. Only Living Witness is a personal favorite of mine and I could care less if it makes 1, 100 or 1000 people happy by having them play. I just had to have them. As well as Darkane, now that’s some good quality Swedish metal. And then there’s of course The Lucifer Principle, Pilgrimz and Motorjesus. Bands that make me want to start head banging when the first note exits the PA system. And you don’t even want to know what else we have planned. He he, of course you do but you’ll have to wait just a little longer for that…”
Let’s not forget to mention that a date has been set as well. The one day Loud From The South festival is scheduled for Saturday august 30th in Eindhoven, Holland. The festival ground is located at the Klokgebouw near train station Eindhoven-Beukenlaan.
Tickets will go on sale Saturday June 21st through Ticketservice. Tickets will cost 45 euro + service fees until July 18th and after that it will be 55 euro + service fees.

LFTS is a new brand name in metal; every year, multiple events will be organized by partners Loud Noise and Zuid Events, culminating on the open air festival “Loud From The South” at the end of the summer. This festival meets the most important wishes of today’s metalheads: watching metal bands in a relaxed atmosphere with your friends while enjoying a beer. LFTS chooses to schedule the bands on two stages with an alternating time schedule: every visitor can see all bands and doesn’t have to choose from a huge schedule with overlapping times.
